JUSTICE DAN DELLA AKUM KISOB who was born on
November 22, 1952 and passed away on
June 4, 2007.
Justice Dan Della Kisob known popularly as 'Ni Dan' or 'Guy K' was a career magistrate and distinguished Judge in Cameroon's judiciary. He was born to Pa Johannes Kisob (late) and Abu Rebecca Frinwie Kisob (late) In 1952. He is a graduate of Sacred Heart College Mankon and the university of Yaounde where he obtained his degree in law. Justice Kisob completed his judicial training in 1979 when he graduated from ENAM- Cameroon's school of magistracy. In his 28 years as a magistrate he was at different times Senior state Counsel, Chief Judge of the High Court and at the time of his death, Advocate General at the Court of Appeal (South Region).
In June 2007 he left Ebolowa with his driver headed for Yaounde where the remains of the former Prime Minister and now Senator Achidi Achu's son were to be removed for burial in the north west. Upon arriving Yaounde and contrary to his intentions he was asked to join in the convoy taking the corpse to the North west which he did. On his journey after the burial back to Yaounde, Guy K and 3 others in the car with him were involved in a car accident which in the moments thereafter claimed his life leaving to grief his wife, Mrs Jacky Kisob, his children Banla, Sidney, Alaric, Leopold and Wanwan, a panoply of relatives, friends and fans.
The wind swayed heavily, the clouds roared and so the earth lost one if its finest. A lawyer never dies! God the judge of all judges thought it necessary to elevate him to a higher court; a court with unending jurisdiction. He now sits with his father and maker; mayhaps exercising new judicial duty assigned him for heaven is the place of true judgment. We thank God that during his life he stayed away from anything that would have broken his bond with God almighty even if it meant giving up earthly power and glory. Perhaps the cleanest and best dressed man of all times, words alone cannot describe him; pictures may do a little justice but those who knew him know today, tomorrow and forever that he was a man beyond compare.
